Jeremy

Jeremy Skaggs

Senior Minister

Jeremy Skaggs joined the staff of First Christian Church Jeffersonville in July 2023 after serving congregations in Kansas, Oklahoma, and Texas. He was ordained in 2002 at First Christian Church in Independence, Kansas,  and completed his theological education at Phillips Theological Seminary. Jeremy and his wife, Laurie, are the parents of Jarret (Julia), Dana, Hayden (fiancée Grace), and Libby.

Jeremy has a gift for building community wherever he goes. He believes the church is at its best when people gather around Christ’s table, grow in meaningful relationships, and discover God’s grace together. He is passionate about creating worship that is both reverent and alive, engaging people of every generation in meaningful ways. Whether through a thoughtful sermon or the occasional surprise for the children, like inflatable lightsabers or flame sunglasses, Jeremy enjoys helping children and adults alike encounter the story of God with joy and wonder.

His preaching often returns to the themes of the image of God in every person, the importance of community, and God’s work of restoring people to wholeness. His favorite part of every worship service is gathering around the communion table, where God’s grace is shared with everyone.

Andrea Woolley

Associate Minister

Andrea Woolley joined the staff of First Christian Church Jeffersonville in September 2025. She was ordained in 2006 at Fellowship of the Valley in Birmingham, Alabama, a Cooperative Baptist Fellowship congregation, and is currently seeking standing in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). Andrea earned her bachelor’s degree from Hardin-Simmons University and her Master of Divinity from Beeson Divinity School at Samford University. Andrea and her husband, Matt Dyer, are the parents of Lillian and Audrey.

Andrea collaborates with the Christian Education team to create opportunities for children and adults to grow in faith through worship, learning, and community. She also helps plan weekly worship, seasonal experiences for Advent and Lent, and opportunities for the congregation to connect with the wider community through outreach and service. Andrea strives to create spaces where people can ask honest questions, build meaningful relationships, and discover that they are already known and loved by God.

Don Allen

Music Director

Don Allen joined the staff of First Christian Church Jeffersonville in 1996. He and his wife, Joan, have been longtime members of FCCJeff. As Music Director, Don works closely with the pastoral staff to plan worship each week. He directs the choir, leads the worship band, and coordinates the church’s musical ensembles. Whether leading a hymn, directing the choir, or introducing a new worship song, Don’s ministry helps create meaningful opportunities for the church to worship God together.

Luke Farrell

Youth Director

Luke Farrell joined the staff of First Christian Church Jeffersonville in October 2023. He and his wife, Kate, are the parents of three daughters, Thea, Gemma, and Ivy. As Youth Director, Luke leads the church’s Sunday evening youth ministry for students in grades 6–12 during the school year. He enjoys creating opportunities for students to build friendships, grow in faith, and find their place in the life of the church.

Melana Fischer

Office Manager

Melana Fischer joined the staff of First Christian Church Jeffersonville in 2010. She and her husband, Drew, have been longtime members of FCCJeff. As Office Manager, Melana keeps the church’s day-to-day operations running smoothly. She manages the church office, maintains the church calendar, coordinates building use for church ministries and community groups, prepares worship materials, and helps keep everything organized behind the scenes.

Emma Blankenbaker-Cook

Nursery Attendant

Emma Blankenbaker-Cook joined the FCCJeff staff in 2026 and cares for our youngest children in the nursery on Sunday mornings. During the week, Emma is a preschool teacher at River Ridge Learning Center.

Michelle Lynch

Nursery Attendant

Michelle Lynch joined the FCCJeff staff in 2026 and cares for our youngest children in the nursery on Sunday mornings. During the week, Michelle works with children and families at the Jeffersonville location of the Jeffersonville Township Public Library.
