First Christian Church Jeffersonville is part of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), a movement of churches seeking to follow Jesus by gathering around Christ’s table, reading and wrestling with scripture, serving our neighbors, and growing together in faith. We believe God loves the whole world, and we are called to share that love with others through compassion, justice, generosity, and grace.

Welcoming others and their questions
As Disciples, we celebrate communion every Sunday because Christ’s table is at the heart of our worship and our life together. We practice an open table, welcoming everyone to share in communion. We also believe faith is a lifelong journey. Rather than asking everyone to arrive at the same conclusions, we encourage thoughtful faith, honest questions, and learning together in community. At FCCJeff, we trust people to wrestle honestly with faith while remaining in community with one another.
Unity through Christ
The Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) describes itself as “a movement for wholeness in a fragmented world.” We seek to live out that calling by loving as Jesus loved, partnering with our neighbors, working for justice, and building a community where all people can grow in faith together. Our unity is found in Christ rather than complete agreement on every question.
