Title: Blood On Our Hands (Hebrews 9:11-14)
Date: 11/01/2015
Key Speaker: Amanda Wagoner-Meade
As a young person I never liked any of the “blood” songs in the hymnal. I thought the idea of being “washed in the blood”, to be honest, sounded gross. But the author of Hebrews had no problem talking about blood. In our passage this week, we will learn about the use of blood to purify and cleanse and forgive in the altar sacrifices of Israel and also about the different kind of power we find in the blood of Jesus.
It will give us a chance to discuss how American culture dispenses justice in contrast to how God offers it. I don’t know about you, but I am pretty sure I am going to like God’s way better.
